All you need to know about our enrolment scheme, and enrolling your child at Waihao Downs School.
Waihao Downs Enrolment Scheme
The Waihao Downs School now has an enrolment scheme to manage our roll numbers and avoid overcrowding. You can view our enrolment zone at the school office.
If you live within our zone your child is welcome to enrol at Waihao Downs anytime. If you live outside the zone your child will only be able to enrol if there are spaces available. Each year the number of out of zone enrolments are advertised and if enrolment requests for out of zone students exceeds the number of places a ballot is held. Full detail about how this ballot works are available at the school office.
If you would like to have a look at our school and/or discuss enrolment of your child, please contact the school on 03 689 2734.

Preschool visits
This is to introduce your child to the school. They will meet the Junior Room class teacher and be introduced to the other children. On average this is 3 to 5 days and/or half days before your child turns five.
New entrants may be enrolled before their fifth birthday, but cannot legally attend school before that date.
